Working with cannabis concentrates

I used to smoke a lot of dried marijuana flower.

  • That was before I found tried concentrates.

There are a wide variety of concentrates on the current market. Cannabis concentrates are typically named by the texture. There is wax, budder, shatter, bubble hash, rosin and more. Concentrate are a potent form of marijuana. Concentrate is created from pressing the flowers of the plant. The flowers can be pressed at different stages of the harves. For example, live resin is made from the live marijuana plant. Concentrates typically offer especially high THC percentages. Cannabis concentrates are normally consumed through dab rigs or vapes. I like vapes because there is no combustion process. Because the cannabis is not burned, it retains a higher concentration of cannabinoids. When I started vaping concentrate, I noticed that there was some residue of wax left over. I did not want to throw it away. I new this leftover was probably very potent. Concentrates aren’t exactly cheap. The reclaim comes from melting the wax. I didn’t want to waste those high THC levels. The reclaim can be used in a number of ways. Some people choose to smoke it. Since it is already decarboxylated, it can be used in recipes as well. The leftover wax does not need to be reheated or elevated in temperature. I use it in my recipes to make cannabis-used edibles. I mix a single gram with coconut oil. I sometimes fill gelatin capsules that can be swallowed for a delayed onset of affects. This allows me to stretch my concentrate a bit further and save some money.
