Chronic pain is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
- That sounds trite but there is complete truth in that statement.
For over a decade I have had to deal with the effects of chronic pain. And, it just about ruined my life. In fact, there were plenty of times where I wasn’t sure that carrying on with my life was worth it. And it all started in such a seemingly random sort of way. What started out as a few aches quickly progressed. Initially, I thought I had simply over done my exercise and needed to dial it back. Yet, I was in my late 20’s, in good health and no sort of indication that chronic pain could be in my life. And it just happened. The pain got worse. The doctors kept changing their minds about what was happening. After years of dealing with this cycle, it became evident to me that western medicine didn’t know what was happening to me. And it really wasn’t helping me manage the pain. Luckily, I was able to turn to medical marijuana. And, it quite literally saved my life. I finally found a doctor that suggested that I use medical cannabis. This was so out of left field to me. I thought that they were really reaching now. But he helped me get some cannabis education in order to learn how effective it can be in managing chronic pain. Plus, using medical cannabis would allow me to get off the prescriptions and take a more holistic approach to my health. It has been such a success and I am feeling better than I have in 20 years.
