My co-workers and I did not even know what to expect when we came to learn that a current manager was going to take over at the pot shop.
The outdated manager was not respected among us.
She did not seem to care a great deal about the employees and never considered any of our feedback to be pressing. The bunch of us all assumed that management would hire someone similar to the last person. The bunch of us were surprised to find that the current manager is substantially different. The current person is about 20 years older than the other manager. This person has been in the business since before marijuana was legalized. She told all of us a couple of awesome stories. The manager told us that she was going to start doing things in a very different manner. Then she implemented a couple of the variations, and from now on scheduling will be totally flexible. If you honestly want a day off, you can have it! As long as you request the time weeks in advance, almost everyone will get the afternoons off that they actually choose to request. That was something just about everyone complained about in the past. When we had a busy month at the pot shop, the manager made almost everyone come into work and did not honor any day off requests. It made it super hard to schedule appointments for the dentist, doctor, and vet. After spending a little bit of time with the current marijuana shop manager, it definitely appears that things are changing. She seems as though she wants the employees and management to be able to do great work together instead of butting heads all the time.
